New Features & Enhancements
1. Enhanced 3D Capabilities for Better Visual Understanding
SkyDeck's latest updates make it easier to work with 3D models of your sites, helping you spot important details and make smarter decisions. These improvements let you interact with, view, and analyze 3D data in simpler, more effective ways, so you can get the most out of your site models.
3D Compare Mode: Easily compare two 3D models to highlight differences. Ideal for tracking site changes over time, model versions, or data from various sources. View models together on one screen or independently for flexible exploration and instant change detection—quickly identifying updates like construction progress or terrain shifts. This speeds up tasks in monitoring, volume comparisons, or damage assessments, leading to faster insights, reduced errors, and better project planning.
Angular Measurements in 3D: Measure angles directly in the 3D viewer by drawing lines on your model—the tool calculates and displays the angle in degrees for accurate results. This works in true 3D space, considering the model's depth and orientation. It's great for assessing structures like beams, walls, or slopes, supporting tasks such as validating designs against real builds, inspecting infrastructure, or analyzing gradients in engineering and mining. You'll get precise spatial insights to improve accuracy in evaluations and verifications.
Support for .3tz format: SkyDeck now handles .3tz files, a format designed for efficient streaming of large 3D datasets. While SkyDeck optimizes any uploaded model for better viewing experience, if you have pre-tiled data, you can upload it directly as .3tz to save any additional processing time.
2. New Site Information Dashboard – Instant Survey Insights
The Sites module now features a dashboard that gives you a quick visual summary of your survey data, making it easier to understand site conditions at a glance.
Snapshot Summary: Get an instant overview of observation severity and types, showing how issues are distributed across the site. This helps you quickly prioritize what needs attention, focusing on critical areas without digging through details.
Site Trends: Track how observations evolve over time, spotting patterns, ongoing issues, or positive changes. This supports long-term monitoring, so you can plan actions more effectively and make data-driven decisions for ongoing site management.
3. Drone Log File Playback & Battery Health Analysis
SkyDeck now supports uploading drone log files for easy post-flight reviews and diagnostics, helping you spot issues and optimize future missions. It works with .bin files from Asteria drones and .dxt files from DJI and compatible platforms.
Interactive Flight Path Playback: Replay your drone's flight path with simple controls like pause, seek, and fast-forward. This lets you review routes in detail, making it straightforward to identify any anomalies or inefficiencies from the mission.
Log Visualization: View interactive graphs of key flight data, such as altitude, speed, and battery levels. These visuals help you analyze performance trends quickly, supporting better planning and troubleshooting.
Battery Health Report: Get detailed insights into battery conditions, including temperature, current, and cell voltage. This enables proactive maintenance, helping extend battery life and ensure safer, more reliable flights. Overall, these tools simplify log reviews, speed up compliance checks, and improve mission audits for smoother operations.
4. Faster Onboarding with Social Logins
SkyDeck has streamlined the sign-up and login process on web and mobile, making it quicker to get started and access your account. Use your existing Google or Microsoft account for secure, one-click entry—no need to create or remember new credentials. This cuts down on setup time, reduces login hassles, and simplifies access for teams, leading to fewer support issues and a smoother start to using the platform.
5. New Dashboard, Redesigned for Efficiency
Introducing a redesigned SkyDeck dashboard that delivers a comprehensive overview of your organization's activities while boosting efficiency through intuitive navigation and quick data access.
Live Feed & Calendar: Stay informed and plan effectively with real-time updates and scheduled events at a glance.
Quick-Access Widgets: Save time and reduce clicks by instantly accessing your recent or favorited projects and missions or active livestreams.
At-a-Glance Summaries: Make smarter decisions faster by monitoring the live status of missions and resources.
6. CAD & Design File Overlays
Directly overlay design files on your map to streamline planning and analysis. SkyDeck now supports uploading CAD (DWG, DXF) and geo-referenced raster files (PDF, PNG) to visualize plans against real-world aerial data.
Upload design files directly into SkyDeck: This eliminates the need for external conversion tools, saving time and simplifying your workflow.
Visualize files as interactive map overlays: This allows you to directly compare design plans against real-world aerial data, enhancing site analysis and progress tracking.
Centralize plans and schematics on the map: This improves team collaboration by providing a single source of truth where design and operational data coexist.
Note: Uploaded files must be geo-referenced or be accompanied by a world file for correct placement.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
This release includes targeted fixes and optimizations across the platform to improve stability, data accuracy, and user experience.
1. Platform Improvements
Automated Photogrammetry Parameters: SkyDeck now automatically applies the most suitable camera and sensor parameters based on your selected outputs. This ensures more accurate reconstructions with less manual intervention.
Standardized Insight Naming: Insight titles now follow a consistent naming convention across all reports and dashboards, regardless of the source file name, resolving issues with missing or inconsistent titles.
Cleaner Report Tables: In 2D Annotation Reports, empty data fields (e.g., Severity, Category) are now hidden instead of displaying "None", resulting in cleaner, more professional tables.
2. Sites
Contour Processing: Fixed an issue where contour lines with large intervals (e.g., 40m, 50m) would fail to render during Insights generation, ensuring proper visualization of elevation data.
Layers Panel Scroll Bar: Resolved a UI bug where the scroll bar would disappear when more than 10 raster files were loaded, making long layer lists fully navigable again.
3. Reporting & Annotations
2D Annotation Report Accuracy: Addressed several display and data accuracy issues in exported reports.
Survey Metadata: Survey location and date are now displayed correctly.
Charts & Graphs: Stacked bar charts now accurately reflect annotation groupings, duplicate graphs have been removed, and all chart data is correctly calculated.
Branding: White-labeled reports now consistently display the correct organization logo in the header.
